Sunday Antique Rose Filter Experiment In 400mm
For those who have not dug deep into Lightroom or Photoshop and for my own practice I took a look at a neighbors antique style rose. Captured this image with the Canon EOS 7DII and a EF 400mm L lens. First, the straight color image as shot, albeit with a polarizing filter on the camera.
Next up, used the Red Filter in PS, but then had to take the exposure down about two stops to prevent a whiteout.
And last among the rose series, a blue filter. No exposure adjustment needed.
Obviously I hope I did not use a subtle level of filtration here. Just enough I hope to show what happens with the light a little bit and to encourage some of you to experiment and play and practice this further sometime. Don’t feel constrained by your camera or what your eyes show you at the time of the shot.
And just one more where I was working a composition to show that pattern in the Sago palm. Soon that big bud will blossom, so I’ll get that when it happens. in the meantime I just liked how the leaves and shapes appear in that light.
